fueling your workout: what to eat before and after you train because your body = your engine x
hi! i’m blaire — one of the summer interns here at true form fitness — and today we’re talking about something that makes a huge difference in how you feel before, during, and after class… what you eat.
let’s be real: lagree is no joke. it’s intense, it’s controlled, and it works muscles you didn’t even know you had. so if you want to feel powered up instead of burned out, what you put in your body matters.
let’s break it down ↓
before class = fuel time
you don’t want to walk into a megaformer class running on empty. but you also don’t want to feel like you just crushed a cheeseburger and now have to do inner thigh pulses (nightmare fuel).
here’s the sweet spot:
— light, balanced carbs + protein
— 30 to 60 mins before class
some pre-workout go-to’s from team TFF:
— banana + peanut butter
— greek yogurt + berries
— rice cake with almond butter
— protein smoothie (keep it light and easy to digest)
— a few sips of your fav energy drink (alani nu is a fan favorite around here)
think of this as your launch fuel. you’re giving your muscles the energy they need without weighing yourself down.
after class = recover & rebuild
you just crushed 50 minutes of full-body shakes and mega burn. now your body is like: help pls!!!
this is the time to replenish, rebuild, and re-hydrate.
— protein to repair muscles
— carbs to restore energy
— hydration = always
our fav post lagree options:
— eggs + avocado toast
— protein shake with banana
— chicken + sweet potato bowl
— smoothie from e + rose
— cottage cheese + fruit + honey drizzle
go grab a yummy smoothie bowl from e + rose! (hint…hint… it’s right next to our studio)
bonus points for adding electrolytes to your water — especially if you sauna after class too. (ps: shoutout to sweat shack franklin)
some tff truths
→ lagree is low-impact, but it’s still high-performance.
→ if you don’t fuel right, your body feels it.
→ small snacks > skipping meals.
→ hydration isn’t optional. like, ever.
your workout doesn’t start when class begins — it starts with how you treat your body all day long.
listen to your body. treat it with love. feed it like the athlete you are.
whether you’re walking into your first class or you’re a regular with a favorite megaformer (we all have one), just know: fueling your body = showing up for yourself.
so next time you're prepping for a TFF burn, don’t forget to eat like you mean it.
love, your trueform fam x
